Okay so I've updated approximately 30 billion times in the last week or so and probably half of those updates happened today so I am gonna try to condense today's into one big one even though they are all mostly just random blurbs because life is much too interesting and confusing and everything else right now for my own words to suffice.
Life isn't about keeping score. It's not about how many people call you. It's not about who you've dated, Are dating, or haven't dated at all. It isn't about who you've kissed, What sport you play, Or which guy or girl likes you. It's not about your shoes or your hair Or the color of your skin, or where you live, or go to school. In fact, it's not about grades money, clothes, or colleges that accept you or not. Life isn't about if you have lots of friends, or if you are alone, And it's not about how accepted or unaccepted you are. Life just isn't about that. But Life is about who you love and who you hurt. It's about how you feel about yourself. It's about trust, happiness, and compassion. It's about sticking up for your friends and replacing inner hate with love. Life is about avoiding jealousy, Overcoming ignorance, and building confidence. It's about what you say and what you mean. It's about seeing people for who they are and not what they have. Most of all, it is about choosing to use your life to touch someone else's in a way that could never have been achieved otherwise. These choices are what Life is about.
Life is but a froth and bubble;
two acts stand alone,
Kindness in another's trouble,
And courage in your own.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
-Marianne Williamson
Which of your five senses (touch, taste, sight, hearing, or smell) do you value the most?
Submitted by Elisheva.
Oo, this is a tough one. I know which one I would pick if I had to choose one to give up, but which one do I value most is a little harder. If I had to give one up it would be smell. But the one I value most is probably touch because I believe that there are thing you can say through body language that you can't say with words and there is a deeper meanign in touch than can be conveyed by word, whether written or spoken.
This also made me think of this quote which happens to be a favorite of mine. =)
"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
-Ralph Waldo EmersonWhat's your motto?
I am definitely a "quotes" person. so i have like hundreds that i love. my binders are covered front and back with quotes. Here's a few... plus some.
*1. Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. - Abe Lincoln
&
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.
Only all too true. You decide whether every day is a bad day or a good one. You can't blame your unhappiness on others.
2. Laugh as much as you breathe, love as long as you live.
3. Life is a banquet but most poor suckers are starving to death.
4. It is not the length of life but the depth.
&
And in the end, it's not the years in your life, that count, it's the life in your years. - Abe Lincoln
5. Attack Life- it's going to kill you anyway.
6. People won't remember who you are or what you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel.
How true this is! Think about it... When a friend says "Oh do you know ?" We almost immediately respond with "Oh yah! I love him/her! They're so awesome, etc..." or with "Oh, yah. They're kinda..."
7. Love each other or perish. -Auden
*8. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. -Teddy Roosevelt
9. We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools. - MLK Jr.
10. The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good. - Ann Landers
1 & 8: these are probably my favorites or the ones that mean the most to me right now because I know they are true, from personal expereince. You are in charge of your life. No one else. You make the decisions and you must live with the consequences, whether good or bad.
